MSABC visits Prince George, Vanderhoof and Fraser Lake, BC Men’s Sheds

Last week, MSABC volunteer board members flew to Prince George, then drove to Vanderhoof to meet with other MSABC board members and the MSC (Men’s Sheds Canada) volunteer board and staff. It was an action packed week which included joint operation and strategic planning meetings between MSABC and MSC.

It was not all work and some of the activities involved visiting a number of sheds in Vanderhoof, Fraser Lake, and two in Prince George. The Shed’s were all very open and welcoming and we were able to observe the camaraderie that each one provided and the unique and local presence for Men from each area.

Vanderhoof Shed hosted a fantastic luncheon which was attended by over 70 people from 11 of the Northern Sheds. Also in attendance were some of the local and Provincial politicians to provide their support.

We were able to take a few minutes out of our busy planning day for a guided tour of the local White Sturgeon fish hatchery.

Wow!!! The trip was a great way to meet with so many fellow shedders and to see how unique and diverse Mens Shed’s are in BC. I was humbled to be a part of this and to be able to work with others to further ramp up this great cause for all Men!
