Please remember that our funding from UWBC provides for coverage of travel, hotel and meals for two Shedders/Shed sharing one room and travelling in the same car. This applies to both existing and prospective Sheds. Additional Shedders are welcome but will be required to cover their own (and spouses, if applicable) travel and hotel costs. Conference meals for all Shedders, however, will be covered. Please note that the hotel can only accommodate a total of 80 persons in the Garibaldi Room, where the Conference will be held.  With technical support from the hotel, United Way and MSABC, we hope to stream the conference to all Shed Sites across Canada. The Conference is subject to any future provincial health orders regarding COVID-19.

Note: You must be fully vaccinated to attend the Conference. Given the most recent Covid 19 directive, we will be obligated to wear masks for indoor gatherings.

Thank you Robert

Great conference, personally I can’t thank Robert, Squamish, everyone who took part and everyone who attended enough for making this such a success. It is going to be a hard act to follow. Maybe we can get every shedder in the province out to the next one. Did you notice that, while we were at the conference, the federal government made Carolyn Bennett the Minister of Men’s Sheds (some call her the minister for mental health and addictions)? As most Sheds have a great relationship with their MP, I suggest that we get in touch with them and let them know that we are here to support her in this new roll and to make sure that she knows about all the great work Men’s Sheds are doing in their riding. This should help Doug in his efforts to get recognition on the national stage. We also need to do the same thing with our own Minister of Men’s Sheds, She Malcolmson. She is the MLA for Nanaimo.

All the best. Mike Jennings. Men Helping Men help their Minister of Men’s Sheds.
